One of Elephant’s co-owners revealed that ¥30 million (~ $200 thousand) was spent on the Chinese Dota 2 team. He was quoted by the author of the CN Dota In A Nutshell page on Twitter.
The co-owner admitted that creating the roster was a stupid move, as the team did not achieve meaningful results. The roster earned over $811k in prize money throughout.
Elephant’s Dota 2 team was formed in October 2020. The roster consisted of Lu Somnus丶M Yao, Xu fy Linsen, a mid-player, and other players. Throughout the roster’s existence, its best achievement was a 13-16 place at The International 10 (2021). In November 2021, the organization disbanded the roster.
