This game does not need to be purchased and can be played for free. It is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows. The game received generally good reviews after its launch and crossed 60 million downloads in 2 months.
The game is set in the virtual land of Verdansk, based on the city of Donetsk in Eastern Ukraine, where players are allowed to play multiplayer combat with up to 150 players at a time. The game has two modes, namely, Plunder and Battle Royale. In Battle Royale mode, the player has to continuously be at war till he remains the last person alive on the battlefield. In BR mode, once the player is defeated he is transported to the Gulag where he has one-on-one combat with another defeated player Plunder mode, the player and his squad has to look for hidden csh to collect one million dollars. In Plunder mode, the player automatically respawns. Before this, the game supported only squads of three ‘trios’, but now the game has introduced solos, duos, and quatros.
The players in the game can use their in-game currency called Cash to buy new stations, purchase gas masks and killstreaks. The player starts the game with an X16 pistol with no attachments. As the game progresses, the player can pick up components found in a standard loadout which generally consists of primary and secondary weapons, tactical and lethal equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks. The player gets to explore the map and search for items that can be on the ground or in supply boxes.
