Gambit Esports and Virtus.pro have been removed from the ESL world rankings. The teams ranked third and seventh in the CS:GO world rankings.
After the exclusion of Gambit and Virtus.pro from the ranking, one CIS representative, Natus Vincere, remained in the top ten. The IEM Katowice 2022 champion FaZe Clan is now at the top-3.
Virtus.pro was No. 21 in the ESL Dota 2 rankings, and Gambit Esports was not on the list. The last time one of the club’s lineups was listed in the rankings was February 20 at No. 43.
On March 2, ESL banned clubs that, in the opinion of the organizers, are associated with the Russian authorities and companies or personalities under sanctions due to the ongoing military hostilities in Ukraine to participate in their next competitions. So far, the restriction has only affected Virtus.pro and Gambit Esports.
