Indian gamers hope to win the National Esports Championship to enter the World Championship this year

Esports Federation of India (ESFI) in Delhi has opened registrations for the 2021 edition of the National Esports Championships (NESC). The registration period will take place from August 6-22. The tournament’s program contains popular games such as DOTA 2, Tekken 7, CS:GO

The tournament will be played virtually. Lokesh Suji, Director of Esports Federation of India (EFI) and Vice President of the Asian Esports Federation (AESF) said that unstoppable growth of interest in the esports industry in India is a golden age of the industry. That fact encourages them to come up with entirely new ideas and create something amazing for the esports community.

Boban Totovski, Secretary-General, International Esports Federation said that as the esports market gets bigger new Indian players take interest in a professional scene. Talented and outstanding professional players will compete in the most famous games in the tournament. Winners of the NESC 2021 will represent India at the 13th Esports World Championship.

The current Indian Top-1 Tekken 7 player Abhinav Tejan thinks that the way to last year’s World Championship has become more complicated than in the previous years. Tejan noticed that competition seems to be difficult because new talented players arrived in Tekken 7. However, he is well trained and “ready to give my best shot”.

The winners of the NESC 2021 will participate in Regional Online Qualifiers for the 13th Esports World Championship. The finalists of the qualifiers will go to the Global Finals in Eilat, Israel on 14 November.
