Riot Games releases trailer and schedule for new VCT format for 2023

Riot Games studio announced the schedule of tournaments of the updated Valorant Champions Tour system for 2023. The information appeared on social networks and on the official website of the shooter.

The new competitive season on the professional scene will begin with the Kick-off Tournament for franchise league participants. It will run for three weeks in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and begins in February — the winning region will earn an extra slot at the Masters.

In March, the first regular-season split will begin. In 2023, teams will play for one period, but starting in 2024, the competition will take place over two splits. Competitors from international leagues in the Americas, Asia Pacific (APAC), and EMEA will compete for slots at the Masters — ten teams each.

A second international Masters tournament will be held in June. At the end of the tournament, the top teams from the leagues will receive an invitational ticket to the world championships. Last Chance qualifiers for the final spots at the VCT Championships will begin immediately after the event in July. The 2023 Valorant World Championship will take place from August through September.

Competition on the tier-2 stage with regional leagues will take place in two splits from January through June. In July, the top teams will be able to compete in a series of new Ascension tournaments and compete for a temporary slot in an international league for the next season.
