Riot Games has canceled the LoL Continental League summer split.
“Dear viewers and players, together with the licensee, we have decided to cancel the summer split of the League of Legends Continental League. As a consequence of this decision, the LCL teams will miss the 2022 World Championship. Thanks to the fans and the CIS teams for their support, and we hope to return soon with news,” reads the official LCL VK group.
A slot for a team from Eastern Europe at Worlds 2022 will go to the club that takes 4th place in the European League.
Worlds 2022 will take place from September 29 to November 5 in Mexico and the USA.
